as i sit on the mtr (subway), 2 questions often come to mind...

#1. boy or girl?

#2. does she actually think that looks good?

now for the explanations. boy or girl...that refers to whether the person i'm looking at is a boy or a girl. simple enough, right? there are some extremely effeminate guys out here and also some very boyish girls who end up looking like slightly effeminate guys. these girls aren't butch, they're "boyish". dunno if you can picture it. either way...of course, my question never gets answered.

second question. hong kong fashion has soooooo many styles. some of the styles i really really like, but one of them...i swear...is to look as ugly as possible. i mean, there is absolutely no way that these people "accidentally" dressed the way they do. trust me, they are doing it on purpose and are trying very hard. picture this: a girl with bright pink shoes with a BIG bright pink bow on it. bright green stockings. white-washed denim shorts that are extremely wide, but end in elastic, right above the knee (over the stockings) (kinda like parachute pants, but denim and they're shorts). an extremely colorful and flowery, button-up, long sleeve shirt with ruffles along both sides of the buttons, at the wrist and at the neck. a yellow SHORT sleeve cardigan with white polka dots OVER the ruffly shirt (yes, the sleeves of the ruffly shirt are poking out underneath). 3-4 plastic, and of course colorful, bangles on her wrist. a crapload of makeup (bright pink lipstick, bright pink blush, bright blue eyeshadow). AND to top it off...her hair is in one little ponytail on the top of her head, holding her bangs straight up and down (alfalfa style, but it's in the front of her head, not the back). o, and the band holding her hair...it's hello kitty.

...see what i mean? this is just one example of what i saw today. it's like how many colors, patterns and textures can i fit into my outfit today? slap me if i ever try that.

i can't decide if i wanna keep blogging or not...so i guess i'll continue to do it sporadically...

as for today...i just wanna bitch about how i hate being sick. i swear...those kids and their snotty little hands just need to stay away! i usually only get sick maybe once or twice a year...BUT...ever since i started teaching...i've been getting sick at least once a month! that's A LOT more than before...and i'm hating it.

i've even made a conscious effort to wash my hands more frequently, use that anti-bacterial hand sanitizer stuff regularly...no help. ugh.

i guess i'll be spending this weekend in bed...and that's where i'm going right now. bye!

happy new year!

my purse got stolen yesterday =/ sucks, huh? we were playing a very intense arcade game where basically you try to break the joysticks...so i didn't wanna keep it on my should because it would hinder my playing. so i kinda looped it around one foot and set it in between my feet, thinking that i'd feel it if anyone went for it...but i was wrong. maybe it was all the jumping and moving around that made it unloop from my foot and the intensity of the game that made me not pay attention...but yup, someone took it. it's so infuriating.

i know this is lame...but i wish people would just go in your wallet, take your cash and your credit cards, but leave your id and all that. take your camera but leave the memory stick behind so that you don't lose all the pictures you took (i think we only had pictures from our xmas vacation to singapore and bintan, indonesia on it, which weren't too many or particularly interesting, so it's not too bad). another thing i can be thankful for is that luckily my phone was in my pocket instead of my purse. that's a bitch to get replaced too, esp the phone number. but you know...things like that. i mean, fine...you stole from me. you outsmarted me or whatever, so take the monetary valuables, but leave behind the sentimental ones and the ones that are just a pain in the ass to replace. for example...if someone breaks into your house...they take your tv, computer (leave the hard-drive behind if you can), jewelry, etc...they leave your photo albums and id's behind. right?

o well.

by the way, this is the second sony digital camera that i've gotten stolen. gr. i think the next digicam i buy will not be a sony...i think i have bad luck with them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
